Hello friends, welcome! I am so excited about this blog post since it's about a very special celebration. Last week, my daughter turned four. It was definitely a bittersweet moment. If you are new to my blog, let me share that I have four daughters. Yes, that is right, FOUR beautiful and amazing daughters. Please, don’t feel sorry for me just yet. I think it is the most wonderful blessing in the world.

To be vey honest, there was a moment at the beginning of my last pregnancy when I did not think I could physically and emotionally take care of a fourth kid. My hands were already completely full with three kids and I had a fear that I wouldn’t be capable of taking care of another human being. It wasn’t long before those fears went away and turned into enthusiasm as I anxiously waited for the arrival of my fourth baby girl. I have seen God’s amazing love as I so gratefully accept these gifts he has sent into my life. I mean, who wouldn't fall in love with these tiny humans that come into this world feeling so soft and cuddly and have the most wonderful smell? I could go on and on about all my children as they are all incredible in so many ways but today's post is actually about baby girl number three. As I stated, last week we celebrated her fourth birthday and it feels very bitter-sweet. Sure, I feel blessed to have her in my life and celebrate another year of her being with us. However, the thought of her getting older and the fact that she is growing way too fast gets me a little teary-eyed.

Let me tell you a little bit about this little girl. She is definitely what you would call a “spirited child”. Yes, she is all the words that identify a spirited child. She is difficult. She protests practically about everything. She is stubborn. She thinks she is always right. She is strong-willed. She is persistent. She is intense. And she is highly sensitive. She is all that and at the same time, she is absolutely AMAZING. She is graceful and poise. She is sassy. She is a burst of energy in a little body. She is full of life and has so much love to give. She is the definition of joy and fills my heart with so much happiness. For this reason, and because I simply adore her (as well as my other three children), I decided to create an unforgettable birthday party for her. Although she knew she was having a Princess and the Frog birthday themed party, she did not know we had invited a surprise guest to the party.

After changing her mind about having an Encanto theme, she decided at the last minute that she wanted to have a Princess Tiana birthday party instead. She stated that was her favorite Disney princess and that she loved her fancy dress. I quickly got into party planning mode and attempted to create a fancy royal dinner to make her party special. One of my favorite parts about princess themed parties is picking out dresses with my daughters. I think it is so much fun having them dress up like their favorite princess. The birthday girl loved her party dress so much she wanted to wear it everyday leading up to her party.

For the table setting, I got chargers from Hobby Lobby to put under the plates and gold plasticware from Target. It definitely gave the party a royal type of feel as it looked much more elegant than our regular party plates.

However, what made the party extra special was the surprise guest, Princess Tiana. I found her from a company called Royally Fun Parties and I must say, she was AMAZING! My girls could not stop talking about her and were so excited about her spending time with them at the party. She played games, did a fun craft, danced and sang in a beautiful voice. She definitely made my daughter’s fourth birthday a memorable one. The excitement on her face was absolutely priceless.

To me, it was an honor to have had the opportunity to do this for that special little girl who brings so much joy to my life. A girl who makes parenting hard for sure, but is perfect and loved just the way she is.

If you have read this post in its entirety, please know that I truly appreciate you. It means so much for me to be able to share my joy and inspiration in creating beautiful celebrations for those I love the most. I hope you find inspiration in this post and please feel free to share your creative ideas. I would love to hear about them and I am sure it would help other mamas looking for inspirations as well.

With Love,

-Maria
